BRITISH CASUALTIES

EARL OF LEVEN AND MELVILLE DANGEROUSLY WOUNDED.

The following casualties in the Expeditionary Force were reported by the
War Press Bureau yesterday

Wounded.
Lieutenant Earl of Leven and Melville, 2nd Dragoons, Royal Scots Greys, dangerously wounded, August 22nd.
No. 9, Sergt.-Major D. S. Jillings, Royal Flying Corps, wounded August 22nd ; progressing favourably.

Injured.
Captain C. S. A. Akerman, Royal Engineers, slight concussion and injury to arm, caused by fall from horse, August 21st.


The Earl of Leven and Melville, who is twenty-four years of age, was educated at Eton and Sandhurst.
He succeeded to the title last year. His younger brother is a lieutenant in the 10th Hussars.
