Aves R J 1st Class Air Mech Royal Flying Corps  Robert John Aves (Machine-minder) enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps in July 1916 and was transferred to the Royal Air Force on its formation on April 1st, 1918. He served in No. 3 Training Squadron and later in No. 21 Training Depot Station (Engine Repair Section). He was appointed 1st Class Air Mechanic in August 1917.
