Bavey A F Pte 24894 1st Norfolk Regiment Alfred Frederick Bavey (Foundry), who had been in the Territorial Force since 1910, was mobilised with the Cambridgeshire Regt. on the outbreak of war. In June 1916 he was promoted Lance-Corporal, and during that and the following year he was Acting Master-Cook at a School of Instruction. In 1918 he joined the 1st Bn. Norfolk Regt. in France, where his unit took part in the final capture of Bapaume and of Cambrai.
