Bird W Le R Acting Cpl 1664 Royal Army Medical Corps Walter Le Roy Bird (Apprentice compositor) enlisted in August 1914 in the Royal Army Medical Corps (T.F.). He served in Egypt and Gallipoli from August 1915 to January 1916, when he was invalided home with enteric fever. In June 1917 he was promoted Acting-Corporal. He went to France in March 1918, and, though gassed on May 15th, 1918, continued to serve overseas until March 1919.
