Lavel H Cpl 49618 Royal Field Artillery Harry Lavel (Country Department, Fetter Lane) enlisted in October 1914 in the Royal Field Artillery, serving successively in the 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column, 48th Bty., R.F.A., and Y 2 Trench Mortar Bty. He was promoted Bombardier in January 1915, Corporal in June 1918, and Sergeant in January 1919. He served for years in England as instructor, for 2 years in France, and for 6 months in the Army of Occupation. He was once wounded.
