Mansfield H Cpl 203564 1st Norfolk Regiment Herbert Mansfield (Apprentice machine-minder), having served in the Territorial Force for more than 6 years prior to the outbreak of war, was mobilised with the Cambridgeshire Regt. on August 4th, 1914. He was promoted Lance-Corporal in April 1917, and in the following month he joined the Norfolk Regt. in France. In August 1917 he was promoted Corporal. He was invalided home in September 1918 suffering from dysentery, and was discharged on medical grounds in the following December.
