Oakman F W Cpl 2nd Suffolk Regiment Frank Walter Oakman (Compositor) enlisted in the Suffolk Regt. in June 1916. He served successively in the 3rd and 2nd Bns. of the Suffolk Regt., in the 215th Bn. Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), and in the 2/1st Ayrshire Yeomanry. He was promoted Lance-Corporal in January 1917 and Corporal in the following July. He was stationed in England for the first 14 months of his service, and in Ireland from August 1917 until his demobilisation in February 1919.
