Peart N B Pte Royal Army Medical Corps Noel Brinklow Peart (Bible Department, Fetter Lane), who had seen very considerable Volunteer and Territorial service before the war, was a member of the British Red Cross Society on the outbreak of war. In October 1914 he was attached to the Princess Club Hospital, Bermondsey, where for 2 years he worked in the X-ray department. In November 1916 he was specially enlisted in the R.A.M.C. as a qualified skiagraphist, and was posted as X-ray operator to No. 56 General Hospital, Etaples. After more than a year's service in France he was sent home with a view to having some of his fingers, which had been injured by the effects of the X-rays, removed; fortunately, however, this course did not prove necessary. He was demobilised in November 1918.
