Ready A W Cpl MM Royal Flying Corps Albert William Ready (Advertisement Department, Fetter Lane) enlisted in November 1915 in the Royal Flying Corps (Wireless Section). He went to France in August 1916 and served there continuously until his demobilisation in February 1919, during which time he was attached to various artillery units, from 18-pdrs. to in. railway guns. He was appointed 1st Class Air Mechanic in February 1917, Acting Corporal in March 1918, and was promoted substantive Corporal in the following June. He was awarded the Military Medal in July 1918.
