Rick F W Pte 17th London Regiment Frank William Rick (Bible Department, Fetter Lane) had joined the Territorial Force early in 1914, and was mobilised with the 17th London Regt. on the outbreak of war; he was afterwards transferred to the West Kent Yeomanry. Three years of his service were spent as an anti-aircraft gunner on the East coast and in work on coast defence systems. He was promoted Lance-Corporal December 1916 and was discharged in July 1918.
