Smart P Sergt 350122 12th Kings Liverpool Regiment
Percy Smart (Machine Room) enlisted on the outbreak of war in the Cambridgeshire Regt. (T.F.); he was afterwards transferred to the King's (Liverpool Regt.), in which he served in the 9th and 12th Bns. successively. He was promoted Lance-Corporal before the end of 1914, Corporal in 1915, Sergeant in 1916, and was appointed Company Sergeant- Major in the same year. In August 1917 he went to France, and served there until he was invalided home with dysentery in September 1918.
