Smith J H Pte 515099 Royal Army Medical Corps James Hurst Smith (Country Department, Fetter Lane) enlisted in July 1915 in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He served successively in the 1st London General Hospital, 14th Field Ambulance, No. 5 General Hospital, No. 30 General Hospital (Calais), and No. 4 General Hospital (Dunkerque), and was in France from May 1917 until his demobilisation in July 1919. He was slightly gassed in October 1917.
