235356 Sergt. (A./C.Q.M.S.) A. Trotman Worc. Reg. (Cambridge) (LG 3 Oct. 1918). For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He was the first to volunteer to join a party to cut a way through the surrounding enemy. He showed the greatest coolness in assembling the men, and most successfully dealt with a large party of the enemy, later taking a position with great skill, and holding on there against far superior forces until fresh orders came for him.
