SECOND LIEUTENANT EVELYN GODFREY WORSLEY (A, 1898-1903) was born on March 3rd, 1885. He was the second son of G. T. Worsley Esq., of Hillingdon, Uxbridge, and elder brother of Lieutenant J. F. Worsley (A, 1902-1907), Grenadier Guards, who fell on November 27th, 1917. He entered Winchester from his father's school at Hillingdon ; he became Head of the House, a Commoner Prefect and a member of Sixth Book, and in 1903 went up to Magdalen College, Oxford. He took his degree with Honours in History and returned to Hillingdon to work under his father, whom he succeeded as Headmaster in 1912. In 1916 he obtained a commission in the 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards—his brother's regiment—and went out to France in August of that year. He died on September 17th following, of wounds received at Lesboeufs during the Battle of the Somme. Mr. Worsley married in 1910 Miss Katherine Rashleigh and left two daughters.
