Day W R Sergt 1st Cambridgeshire Regiment William Robert Day (Monotype caster) enlisted in the Cambridgeshire Regt. in September 1914, and in February 1915 he went to France with the 1/1st Bn. During the year 1916 he was twice wounded; in August he was promoted Lance- Corporal and in December he was promoted Corporal. In May 1917 he returned home and served successively with the 26th Training Reserve Bn. and the 25th Recruit Distribution Bn., being promoted Sergeant in July 1917.
