Humberstone A H Sergt 1st Cambridgeshire Regiment Arthur Henry Humberstone (Machine-minder) had served for 28 years in the Cambridgeshire Regt. (T.F.) prior to the war and had attained the rank of Sergeant. He was mobilised on August 4th, 1914, and during the first year and a half of war he acted as Musketry Instructor to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Bns. of the Cambridgeshire Regt. successively. In February 1916 he went to hospital with hernia and strains and was discharged on medical grounds in the following month. He holds the Territorial Long Service Medal, awarded on the completion of 21 years service.
