Henry William Hyde (Compositor), a Territorial of more than 20 years standing, was mobilised with the Cambridgeshire Regt. at the outbreak of war. He was appointed Company Sergeant-Major in January 1915, and went to France with the 1/1st Bn. in the following month. On his return to England in June 1915 he was appointed Acting Regimental Sergeant- Major of the 4/1st Bn., and in 1917 he became Regimental Sergeant-Major of the 10th West Riding Volunteer Bn. at Wakefield. He was demobilised in February 1920.
