Newman W Pte Cambridgeshire Regiment William Newman (Machine Room) was mobilised on the outbreak of war with the Cambridgeshire Regt. (T.F.), in which he had already had more than 2 years service. He was afterwards transferred to the Royal Sussex Regt. He went to France in July 1916 and was wounded three times, in October and November 1916 and September 1917, being invalided home on the last occasion. He was demobilised in January 1919.
