Nightingale J Pte 672572 2nd Essex Regiment Joe Nightingale (Compositor) enlisted in June 1916 in the Suffolk Regt. In the following September he joined the 2nd Bn. Essex Regt. in France, where he served until October 1917. He was then transferred to a Home Service Employment Coy., being 40 years of age at the time, and he was demobilised in February 1919.
