Pearce E A L/Sergt 328091 1st Cambridgeshire Regiment Edward Arthur Pearce (Compositor) was mobilised on August 4th, 1914, with the Cambridgeshire Regt., in which he had been serving prior to the war. He went to France with the 1/1st Bn. in February 1915, was mentioned in despatches four months later, and was awarded the Military Medal in the following year. He was discharged as time-expired in May 1916, but he re-enlisted in the following July and was posted to the 1st (Res.) Bn. Cambridgeshire Regt., from which he was afterwards attached to the 52nd Bn. Leicestershire Regt. He was promoted Lance-Corporal in November 1916, Corporal in February 1917, and Lance-Sergeant in November 1918.
