Royal Flying Corps

William Thomas Rackham (Monotype operator) enlisted in the Labour Corps in February 1917. In the following month he was promoted Corporal and was posted to the 131st Coy. in France. In June 1917 he was wounded and invalided home. On his recovery he was transferred to the Royal Flying Corps, and he served as Fire Expert at No. 1 Training Depot Station, Statnford, from November 1917 until his demobilisation early in 1919.
