Rumsey J D Pte Royal Defence Corps John Dean Rumsey (Composing Department) was 48 years old on the outbreak of war and had already had many years service both as a Volunteer and as a Territorial. In January 1915 he joined the Royal Defence Corps, and was employed on guard duties until April 1918, when he was transferred to the Royal Air Force. He was demobilised in February 1919.
