Ernest Alfred Taylor (Counting-house, Fetter Lane) enlisted within a month of the outbreak of war in the Royal Army Medical Corps (T.F.). After some months of training with the 4th London Field Ambulance, in the 47th (London) Division, he went to France with his unit in March 1915. He was invalided home in April 1917 with trench fever, and was employed on clerical work at the Blackpool Dep�t from the following July until the armistice, being promoted Lance-Corporal in October 1918. He was discharged from the service with valvular disease of the heart in January 1919.
