Noble Leonard Wheaton (Apprentice machine-minder) enlisted on the outbreak of war in the 1st Bn. Cambridgeshire Regt. (T.F.), from which he was afterwards transferred to the Royal Sussex Regt. In August 1916 he went to France and served there until April 1918. He was wounded in August 1917 and again in April 1918, being sent to hospital in England on the second occasion. He was discharged on medical grounds in September 1918.
