After previous service in the National Reserve he volunteered for duty in the Royal Defence Corps at the outbreak of hostilities. He afterwards did excelleut work at Frimley Camp, guarding German prisoners, and performing other important duties, until his discharge on account of his service in February 1917. 119, Annandale Road, Greenwich, S.E.10. FOORD, R. K., Rifleman, K.R.R.C. He joined in January 1917, and later in the same year embarked for France, where he fought in the Battle of Ypres, and was badly wounded. G., Sapper, R.E. He volunteered in August 1914, and in the following year was drafted to Gallipoli, where he did valuable work throughout that campaign. Afterwards he proceeded to Egypt and took part in the operations at Rafa, Gaza and in various other places during the Palestine campaign. After returning home he was demobilised in July 1919, holding the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. 119, Annandale Road, Greenwich, S.E.10. FOOT, G. T., Private, South Wales Borderers. Having enlisted in March 1906, he was serving in China at the outbreak of war and took part in the capture of Tsing-tau. During 1915 he fought at the Dardanelles, and was then sent to Mesopotamia, where he was in action until sent to France in 1916. There he took part in the Battles of the Somme, Ypres and Cambrai and in the Retreat and Advance of 1918. Demobilised in February 1919, he holds the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. 3, St. Helena Road, Rotherhithe, S.E.16. FOOT, J. A., Private, East Surrey Regt. and M.G.C. Volunteering in August 1915, he proceeded in May of the following year to the Western Front, but shortly afterwards was sent home on account of being under age. In July 1918 he returned to France and fought in the Allied Advance of that year, and was wounded. After receiving hospital treatment he was demobilised in March 1919, holding the General Service and Victory Medals. 29, Sayes Street, Deptford, S.E.8. FOOT, J. J., Corporal, East Surrey Regiment. He volunteered in June 1915, and after a period of training served at various stations on important duties with his unit. Owing to physical unfitness he was not able to obtain a transfer overseas, but rendered valuable services until discharged in October 1916. 29, Sayes Street, Deptford, S.E.8. FORD, A., Signalman, R.N. He volunteered in August 1914, and served in H.M.S. "Agamemnon," in which vessel he cruised off the East Coast until 1915, when he was seat to the Dardanelles. Here he took part in the Gallipoli campaign, and afterwards returned to the North Sea. Later he proceeded to Russia and also served on patrol duties off Libau and Danzig. In 1920 he was serving in H.M.S. "Wild Swan," and holds the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. 16, Royal Place, Greenwich, S.E.10. FORD, A. A., Pte., Queen's (R. West Surrey Regt.) He was serving at the outbreak of war, and in November 1914 was drafted to France. He was in action at Ypres, Neuve Chapelle, St. Eloi and Festubert and was wounded. In January 1916 he was sent to Egypt, and was engaged at Agagia, Sollum, Jifjaffa and Romani, and in the Advance into Palestine served at Rafa, Siwa, Gaza and Jericho. Returning to France in 1918 he took part in the Retreat and Advance of that year. He was demobilised in April 1920, and holds the 1914 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. 3, King's Road, Peckham, S.E.15. FORD, C. E., Sergt.-Major, R.A.M.C. Having volunteered in August 1914, he was drafted to France in the following year, and was engaged on important duties with the Field Hospitals at Loos, the Somme, Beaumont-Hamel and Lens. He also served in the Retreat and Advance of 1918. He was demobilised in January 1919, and holds the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. 25, Muschamp Road, Peckham, S.E.15. FORD, E. H., Gunner, R.G.A. He joined in October 1916, and drafted to France in the following March was in action at Vimy Ridge, Ypres, Passchendaele and Lens. Later he was gassed and invalided home, but returned to France, and took part in the Retreat and Advance of 1918, and was wounded on the Somme in August. He was sent home and subsequently was discharged in December 1919, owing to his injuries. He holds the General Service and Victory Medals. 26, Dilston Grove, Southwark Park Road, Rotherhithe, S.E.16. FORD, F. C., Corporal, R.E. (Signal Section). A Regular, he was mobilised when war broke out and in 1915 crossed to the Western Front. Serving in the Signal Section of his unit at Headquarters of the Third Army, he did excellent work in the Somme Offensive and the Battles of Arras, Vimy Ridge and Ypres, until illness necessitated his evacuation to England for treatment in 1917. He was discharged as medically unfit in March 1918, and holds the Queen's South African Medal (with seven clasps) and the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals, after twenty years' service in the Regular Army and seven with the Territorial Force. 5, Archdale Road, East Dulwich, S.E.22. FORD, G. H., Special War Worker. From the outbreak of war until February 1918 he held an important position in the firm of Messrs. Harbrow's Ltd., Bermondsey. He was engaged on work of a most responsible nature in connection with the construction of aeroplane sheds, and during the course of his service visited the Western, Balkan, Gallipoli. Egyptian and Mesopotamian fronts. 16, Upper Hall Street, Peckham, S.E.15. FORD, H., Private, 180th Labour Corps. He volunteered in March 1915, and in the following month was drafted to France. He was engaged on important work at Havrincourt. Monchy and Cambrai, and also served in the Retreat and Advance of 1918. After the Armistice he proceeded with the Army of Occupation to Germany, where he remained until demobilised in February 1919. He holds the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. 24, Gelhams Court, off Paradise St., Rotherhithe, S.E.16. FORD, P. L., Private, Q.O. (Royal West Kent Regt.) He volunteered in September 1914, and proceeding to France in the following year, was in action at Beaucourt Wood, Albert and Montauban during the Somme Offensive and in the Battles of Arras, Ypres and Passchendaele. Wounded on October 12th, 1917, he was invalided home, but returned to the Western Front in September 1918, and was engaged on guard duties at various prisoners of war camps at Dunkirk and other places. He was demobilised in February 1919, and holds the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. 21, Clyde Place, Forest Hill, S.E.23. FORD, W. J., Gunner, R.G.A. Having volunteered in October 1914, lie was drafted to France later in the same year and took part in numerous engagements, including those on the Somme and at Arras, Ypres and Cambrai. He also served in the Retreat and Advance of 1918. He was demobilised in January 1919, and holds the 1914 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals. 84, Newchurch Street, Rotherhithe, S.E.16. FORDHAM, C., Private, R.A.S.C. Volunteering in August 1914, he was sent to France in the following year, and serving in the general smithy of his unit, did good work until the end of hostilities. He was present at the Battles of Festubert, Loos, Ypres, Passchendaele and in the Retreat and Advance of 1918, and after the Armistice proceeded into Germany with the Army of Occupation. He returned to England in May 1919, and holds the 1914-15 Star, and the General Service and Victory Medals, and in 1920 was still serving. 36, Landcroft Road, East Dulwich, S.E.22. FORDHAM, G., Private, Labour Corps. Having volunteered in August 1915, he was drafted to France in the following year and was engaged on important duties at Boulogne, Rouen and Calais, and later in the Cambrai sector, where he was gassed in 1918. Returning to England in October 1919 he was demobilised, holding the General Service and Victory Medals. 38, Knoyle Street, New Cross, S.E.14. FORDHAM, H., Private, 20th London Regiment. He joined in June 1917, and four months later landed in France. There he fought and died for the freedom of England in the Battle of Cambrai on October 30th, 1917, and was entitled to the General Service and Victory Medals. He volunteered in December 1915, and was shortly afterwards drafted to France, where he took part in the fighting at Loos, Albert, Vimy Ridge, the Somme, Arras and Cambrai, and was wounded and gassed.
