A SPLENDID RECORD.
These five men hold between them a splendid long service record. Left to right : Staff Sergt.- Major A. S. Liggett, who first enlisted thirty-two years ago; Batt. Sergt-Major J. Bertram, twenty-two years ago; Co. Sergt-Major G. Arnott, twenty-nine years ago; Co. Quartermaster-Sergt. T. Chaplin, thirty-two years ago; and Batt. Quartermaster-Sergt. J. Irvine, thirty-three, years ago. They are all now serving at the, front in the 11th. Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, and originally belonged to either the 91st or 93rd Highlanders. When war broke out one of them came back to re enlist from Valdez Island on the Pacific Coast.
