County High School there; was a Bank Clerk; obtained a 2nd Lieutenancy in the Essex Territorials 1 Oct. 1913, and was promoted Lieut. 16 Oct. 1914; volunteered for Imperial service on the outbreak of war in Aug. 1914; went to the Dardanelles, 24 July, 1915; acted as Capt. from 3 Aug., and died on H.M.
