Parents August Robert and Hannah Batzer<\/p>\n<p>France with the 5th London Regiment 12th Jul 1916 to 13th Nov 1916<\/p>\n<p>Commissioned 10th London Regiment<\/p>\n<p>Awarded Military Cross at Tilloy 27th Aug 1918<\/p>\n<p>Citation : For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This officer led his company with great dash in an attack on a village, pushed through it, and captured a machine gun, which he turned on the enemy. Throughout the operations he set a fine example and led his company successfully, owing to previous personal reconnaissances made under fire.<\/p>\n<p>Married Doris Julia Fisher 3rd Nov 1927 at All Saints Parish, Banstead, Surrey.<\/p>\n<p>In 1939 he was working as an insurance clerk and living in Banstead, Surrey<\/p>\n<p>Died 22nd Jul 1956 at Kingswood Surrey.
