Gloucester, D.L.; b. London, 1 Nov. 1888; educ. Pinewood School, Farnborough, Stubbington (being originally intended for the Navy), privately with Mr. W. Trevor, Lathbury, Newport Pagnell, and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst; gazetted 2nd Lieut. 19 Sept. 1908, and promoted Lieut. 20 Nov. 1909, and Capt. 1 Jan. 1914; went to France with regt. Oct. 1914, and was killed in action near Ypres, Thursday, 13 May, 1915; unm. He was leading his squadron in a counter-attack that morning and fell when crossing road from Ypres to Menin.
