Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa, 31 Jan. 1899; educ. The College there, and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst; gazetted 2nd Lieut., Indian Army, 18 Dec. 1917; proceeded to India, and was posted to the 41st Dogras in March, 1918, and died at Ghatingri, Punjab, 5 Sept. following, of enteric, contracted while on recruiting service. Buried at Palumpur.
