The Worcestershire Regt., s. of Harry Barnsley, of 423, Park Road, Hockley, Birmingham, Painter; b. Handsworth, Birmingham, 27 Jan. 1883, educ. Benson Road Board School, Soho, Birmingham; enlisted 25 June, 1918; served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders, and was killed in action at Levantie 2 Oct following, during his first day in the firing line. Buried in Anzac Cemetery, Sailly-sur-la-Lys.
