Sutton aforesaid, 3 July, 1898 : educ. there; was a Shop Assistant; joined the Royal Scots Fusiliers, 10 July 1916; served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders from early in Aug., and was killed in action at P\u00e9ronne Wood 1 Sept. 1918.
