No. 240711, 5th (Territorial) Battn. The Gordon Highlanders, s. of James Youngson Burr, of Castle Hill, Methlick, Farmer, by his wife. Maggie Ann, dau. of the late Thomas Wyness: b. Ellon, co. Aberdeen, 6 April, 1894: educ. Methlick Public School; assisted his father on the farm: volunteered for active service, and joined the Gordon Highlanders in Nov. 1914: served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders from 1 Nov. 1915, and was killed in action before St. Quentin 21 March. 1918. Buried at St. Quentin.
